Water jet cutting has many advantages
UltraCut
is an expert in high pressure water jet cutting, and has worked with the
technology since its early days. As a method, the superiority of water jet
cutting is based on its numerous advantages.
- Water jet cutting is suitable for both soft and hard materials
- The original characteristics of the material being cut remain
unchanged
- The machining mark of water jet cutting is extremely neat
- The surface of the material being cut is not damaged or bent
- Cutting even a complicated geometry with water is quick and
easy
- In addition, the machining mark of water jet cutting requires
little finishing
At cutting speed,
water jet cutting loses to the super-fast fibre laser cutting,
but its productivity can be improved by increasing the number of cutting heads.
However, the most
important advantage of water jet cutting over fibre laser is its versatility –
nearly all materials can be cut using the water jet cutting method.
Abrasive
water jet cutting is used when the thickness and density of the material being cut
increase. Abrasive cutting means a method of mixing very fine sand in the
water. Thanks to the sand, the power of water jet cutting is multiplied.
We have three
water jet cutting tables at our disposal
Pure water
jet:
- Cutting area 1500 mm x 3000 mm
- Cutting heads: 4
- Minimum diameter of the jet 0.05 mm
- Examples of materials: fibreglass, plywood, plastics, rubber,
silicone, other insulating and sealing materials
Abrasive jet
